Unrestricted free agent FS Gibril Wilson signed a 6-year, $39 million contract with the Oakland Raiders. The deal reportedly includes $16 million in guaranteed money.
Unrestricted free agent LB Kawika Mitchell signed a 5-year, $17.5 million contract with the Buffalo Bills. The deal reportedly includes a $3.5 million signing bonus.
Unrestricted free agent LB Reggie Torbor signed with the Miami Dolphins. No terms are yet known.
Giants Part Ways With DT William Joseph: The Giants have voided (terminated) the last two years of DT William Joseph’s contract. Joseph, who spent the year on Injured Reserve with a back injury, is now free to sign with any team.
Giants Turn Down Shockey Trade Request: According to The Journal News Giants’ blog, the Giants turned down the Saints in their efforts to trade for TE Jeremy Shockey.
Giants’ Trade Efforts for CB DeAngelo Hall Dead for Now?: According to The Journal News Giants’ blog, the Giants’ trade efforts for CB DeAngelo Hall of the Falcons are dead for due to Hall’s contract demands. Hall is supposedly looking for the same type of contract that CB Asante Samuel received from the Eagles and unless Hall’s demands are significantly reduced, the Giants have no interest according to the paper.
