New York Giants – 2008 NFC East Division Champions: Despite the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier today (see story below), with the Dallas Cowboys losing today, the Giants have won the NFC East. The Giants have not yet earned a first-round playoff bye, but they have ensured themselves of a first-round home playoff game.
The division title is the twenty-first in franchise history and the seventh NFC East title since the division was created in 1970.
Notes: With the loss to the Eagles, the Giants failed to tie the NFL record for victories over teams with winning records, which was seven, set by the Vikings in 1970.
