New York Giants Agree to Terms with WR Brandon Stokley: Though not official, the Giants agreed to term with 35-year old unrestricted free agent WR Brandon Stokley yesterday. Stokley, who caught a long touchdown pass against CB Jason Sehorn in Super Bowl XXXV, has played in the NFL for 12 years, including with the Ravens (1999-2002), Colts (2003-06), Broncos (2007-09), and Seahawks (2010).

Stokley was part of a workout of free agent wide receivers by the Giants that included T.J. Houshmandzadeh, David Clowney, and Tiquan Underwood.

Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday were WR Hakeem Nicks (knee), H-Back Travis Beckum (hamstring), DE Osi Umenyiora (knee), CB Prince Amukamara (foot), WR Ramses Barden (PUP – ankle), and OC Adam Koets (PUP – knee).

“(Nicks) won’t practice today but he is making pretty good progress,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “It was a bone bruise…We will just go day by day.”

“It is just a situation where it is a bone bruise,” said Nicks. “I will take it day to day. I feel better than I did yesterday and I keep going up. I don’t see myself missing any time.”

“Beckum is Beckum,” said Coughlin. “He has a hamstring…We have had hamstring issues with Travis before. I am not frustrated but expectations are very high. It is very difficult to improve him when he is not practicing.”

Amukamara is no longer wearing a protective boot. Moreover, he rode a stationary bike and lightly jogged on the sidelines during practice yesterday.

“It was pretty weird because I hadn’t run on the field since my surgery and it is a little sore right now,” said Amukamara. “They said that should be natural but my foot still feels good. I feel like I have a little limp in it but I am going to take everything slow right now…Just to keep on rehabbing and keep on getting treatment and keep gradually progressing and advancing the workouts but not too much.”

Umenyiora was also riding a stationary bike during practice.

DE Justin Tuck (neck) practiced on a limited basis. “We are in shells (in practice on Wednesday) and that’s the way he will go,” said Coughlin.
