Osi Umenyiora Says He is Returning to Practice Today: Disgruntled DE Osi Umenyiora told The Associated Press that he intends to return to practice today without a new contract. The Giants appear to have won the contract standoff with Umenyiora, but Umenyiora is still not happy. The Giants reportedly offered Umenyiora some production and playing-time incentives to supplement the final two years and $7.1 million of his current contract.

“No deal has been reworked. What has been offered has been unacceptable and shows they don’t really respect the fact I sacrifice my health for the franchise,” said Umenyiora. “I will play under my current deal because I love and respect my Coaches, my teammates, the fans, and myself. Not for those incentives.”

Injury Report: PK Lawrence Tynes suffered a thigh bruise in the game against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night. “He had the MRI,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin  “He must have a bruise on his thigh. We’ll take it as best we can. I’m not going to predict how long he’ll be out. He’ll be a fulltime participant in the training room. That’s for sure.”

Coughlin is not sure when WR Ramses Barden (ankle) and OC Adam Koets (knee) will come off the Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP) List and practice. “That’s frustrating for me, but as far as I know, they’re not (close to returning),” said Coughlin.
