October 7, 2010 New York Giants Injury Update – Thomas Misses Practice With Sore Hamstring: Not practicing yesterday were HB Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle), FB Madison Hedgecock (hamstring), OC Shaun O’Hara (ankle), OT Will Beatty (foot), DE Mathias Kiwanuka (neck), LB Keith Bulluck (toe), and CB Terrell Thomas (sore hamstring).

“(Bradshaw) is a little better,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “I think we will get him (on Friday).”

“They are trying some different things (with Bulluck),” said Coughlin. “We’ll see. I don’t know about this week, but we’ll see if we can get him for next week.”

“I just battled back from a knee,” said Bulluck. “Now it’s something as simple as a toe that’s keeping me out…It hasn’t gotten worse but it hasn’t gotten better. It’s a frustrating situation for myself and I’m sure for the powers that be. I wasn’t brought here to rehab all season, so I need to hurry up and speed up my recovery.”

Coughlin said there was no change in Kiwanuka and O’Hara.

OC Adam Koets (knee), DE Osi Umenyiora (knee), and FS Kenny Phillips (knee) practiced on a limited basis.

“Looks like (Koets is good to go),” said Coughlin. “He was encouraged by today. He thought he would feel better (on Friday). So I’m encouraged by that.”

When Coughlin was asked about how Umenyiora did in practice, he responded, “Good. He moved well.”

Giants Work Out Guy Whimper: Yesterday the Giants worked out OL Guy Whimper, who the team waived during its last round of cuts in September. It is not known if he was offered a contract or not. “You have to keep all of your options open,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin when asked about why Whimper was visiting.

Quotes: Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell on LB Clint Sintim: “Sintim will play a lot (on Sunday). Yes, he’s going to play a lot in this football game…he’s ready. I tell you, he’s put in an excellent week of practice. We’ve liked the way he’s focused and the way he’s taken on the challenge of, hey I’m going to step up and do my part. So we’ve just got to wait until Sunday to see if he can fulfill that role.”

Offensive Coordinator Kevin Gilbride on WR Mario Manningham:”It’s the natural maturation that comes from just growing up…but I would also add that I think that his determination to be a special player has also forced him now to maybe bear down more than he had to in college…The good thing is that he’s very positive. He wants to be very good, he wants to be special, so his work ethic is excellent. There’s a complete commitment by him to be an elite receiver, which is terrific.”
