September 16, 2010 New York Giants Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday were TE Kevin Boss (concussion), WR Hakeem Nicks (ankle), LB Chase Blackburn (knee), LB Phillip Dillard (hamstring), OT Will Beatty (foot), CB Bruce Johnson (knee), and S Michael Johnson (unspecified – not injury related).

Leaving practice early was OC Shaun O’Hara, who has been battling chronic ankle/Achilles issues for weeks. “He had some re-occurrence of the injury and they felt it was better to just back him off,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin.

“It’s just sore,” said O’Hara. “It’s just really sore, and it’s just kind of an accumulation of things. So we’re just trying to do the right thing and hopefully tomorrow it will feel better…The tough thing is that really rest is the only thing that seems to really do anything for it, and I don’t plan on getting any rest until late February.”

“I’m hoping (Nicks will be able to play on  Sunday),” said Coughlin. “I’m hoping. Really I was hoping he would maybe be able to do something today. But that wasn’t the case…It is hard to play well and not practice. There are just so many things that happen out there.”

“(Bruce Johnson) came in with a swollen knee and they started treatment,” said Coughlin. “Truth be known, he probably could have practiced today but they were cautious with him.”

CB Aaron Ross (foot) and LB Gerris Wilkinson (groin) practiced fully. DE Osi Umenyiora (knee) returned to practice on a full-time basis.
