No Structural Damage to Lawrence Tynes’ Knee: The Giants’ released the following statement regarding PK Lawrence Tynes, who underwent exploratory knee surgery yesterday: “Lawrence underwent the exploratory arthroscopic procedure, which revealed no structural damage. At this point, Lawrence will continue to treat the soreness in his knee through a rehabilitation program.”

Whether Tynes will be able to return to duty in time for the season opener against Washington in less than two weeks remains to be determined. The Star-Ledger is reorting, however, that Tynes has damage to his meniscus cartilage and he will likely not be ready for the Redskins.

Antonio Pierce Wants a New Contract: The Star-Ledger is reporting that LB Antonio Pierce is not happy with his current contract and has been trying to get the Giants to renegotiate all offseason but to no avail. Pierce has three years left on the 6-year, $26 million contract he signed with the Giants in 2005.
