GABE DAVIS VISITS…
Free agent WR Gabe Davis, who was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars after failing a physical, visited the New York Giants on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The 26-year old, 6’2”, 225-pound Davis was originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. In four seasons with Buffalo, Davis played in 64 regular-season games with 47 starts, catching 163 passes for 2,730 yards (16.7 yards per catch) and 27 touchdowns. His signature game was an 8-catch, 201-yard, and 4-touchdown performance in the playoffs against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 season.
Davis signed a 3-year, $39 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March 2024, but had a disappointing season with just 20 catches, 239 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games, missing the final seven with a knee injury (meniscus). Davis is a big X-receiver who performs best in a vertical, down-the-field role. He can have issues creating separation on shorter routes. Davis is a good blocker and locker room presence.
