Interest in Osi Umenyiora Picking Up Steam?: According to The Star-Ledger, some teams are still interested in trading for disgruntled DE Osi Umenyiora. The Ledger, citing an unnamed source, says a few teams might make more serious offers for Umenyiora and that one team is considering offering a 1st-round draft pick.

Meanwhile, The NFL Network is reporting that the Giants have offered Umenyiora to boost his current contract by adding incentives between $400,000 and $1 million. The incentives would be based on playing time and reaching top-10 statistics in certain defensive categories. Umenyiora is still due to make $7.1 million on the final two years of his current contract.

Former Giants Kicker Don Chandler Passes Away: Don Chandler, who played both kicker and punter for the Giants from 1956 to 1964, died on Thursday. He was 76.

“Don was a great player for us during some of the best years in Giants history,” said Giants’ President/CEO John Mara. “He was also a true gentleman.”
