Report – Giants Hire Larry Izzo as Assistant Special Teams Coach: According to The Star-Ledger, though not official until after the lockout is over, the Giants have hired former special teams standout Larry Izzo as their new assistant special teams coach.

Izzo replaces Thomas McGaughey who left the Giants in March to join LSU’s coaching staff.

Thomas Quinn remains the Giants’ head special teams coach.

Izzo played 14 years in the NFL with the Dolphins (1996-2000), Patriots (2001-2008), and Jets (2009). He was a three time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection as a special teams player (2000, 2002, and 2004).

This is Izzo’s first coaching job.
