September 13, 2010 New York Giants Injury Report: The Giants revealed yesterday that the concussion TE Kevin Boss suffered yesterday was his second in in two seasons. The first concussion apparently occurred in the loss to the Denver Broncos on Thanksgiving. The fact that he has suffered two concussions within the span of a few NFL games is troublesome.

“It’s a concussion,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “It means he’ll have to go through all the tests…He did have a concussion last year.”

Meanwhile, the Giants may have lost their top reserve offensive tackle for the season when it was revealed that OT Will Beatty fractured his right foot and the injury will require surgery. The fractured bone is his fifth metatarsal.

When Coughlin was asked if Beatty will miss the rest of the season, he responded, “I don’t know. We’ll see…I’m not sure how it happened. He walked into the locker room after the game and just said, ‘My foot’s sore.'”

LB Chase Blackburn sprained the same knee (MCL) that sidelined him in the preseason. “Same thing,” said Blackburn. “Same kind of injury. Just got hit on the outside of the same knee. We’ll see how it goes taking it one day at a time. Start my rehab back up and hopefully get back. Hopefully it won’t be as long of an off-time this time…I feel like it’s more stable this time. I feel like I’m at a better starting point than I was the last time. Last time it was real wobbly, real loose. This time I have at least some stabilization in it, and hopefully the rehab will be shorter.”
