December 18, 2008 New York Giants Injury Report: The latest on the injury front:

  • DE Justin Tuck (lower leg) – Limited Participation in Practice
  • DT Fred Robbins (shoulder) – Limited Participation in Practice
  • LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) – Did Not Practice
  • S Kenny Phillips (concussion) – Full Participation in Practice

“The only one that didn’t practice is Wilkinson,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “Everybody else practiced. They did okay. They did okay. We will look at the tape and be able to have a sense of how each guy, based on where their problems are, how well they did. But they were all out there and they are excited to be out there, too.”

“(Jacobs) is okay,” said Coughlin. “Feeling alright. He seemed to move around pretty good.”

When asked about McKenzie, Coughlin responded, “I think it is just something that he has had and reoccurred. But there is no further damage there. There is discomfort. And there may be again. But the testing did not show any increase in the injury of any kind…That is always going to be the case (concern about starting McKenzie). If a guy goes into a game and comes out of a game he can’t go back in, that is always something that is going to be on your mind. But we will see how he continues to go through this week’s practice.”

“I’ll be playing on Sunday. That’s what I hope to do,” Robbins said. “My strength level is getting back to where I want it to be…After not playing, after a few days off and getting treatment, I feel a lot better.”

Phil Simms on the 2008 New York Giants: “The Giants may not be capable right now of steamrolling people like they were earlier in the year. They might have to play a different game, but they’re absolutely qualified to make those changes work. In my eyes they are still the Super Bowl favorites.”
