  • HB Derrick Ward (ankle) – Did Not Practice
  • HB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) – Full Participation in Practice
  • WR Domenik Hixon (ankle/foot) – Did Not Practice
  • WR Sinorice Moss (calf) – Did Not Practice
  • RT Kareem McKenzie (back) – Limited Participation in Practice
  • LB Rich Seubert (flu) – Full Participation in Practice
  • DE Justin Tuck (lower leg) – Limited Participation in Practice
  • DT Fred Robbins (shoulder) – Did Not Practice
  • LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) – Did Not Practice
  • LB Jonathan Goff (hamstring) – Did Not Practice/Placed on IR
  • S Kenny Phillips (concussion) – Full Participation in Practice

“There is progress (with Jacobs), sure,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He made, I think, very good progress last week. But we will see. He is going to have to go on the practice field and practice and do the things to get (himself) ready to play. And we will see it on a daily basis how he responds after practice and the next morning (on Thursday).”

“No, (Hixon) didn’t do any more; he just came up sore again, which was not unexpected,” said Coughlin. “So we are going to have to go day by day on him as well.”

“It is a calf strain (with Moss), which is obviously not good for a receiver and a kick/punt returner,” said Coughlin. “So it is not, according to the MRI, something that will be, I don’t think, debilitating over a long period of time. But it is going to be touch and go this week.”

“(Robbins) is coming along,” said Coughlin. “I wish I could tell you it was leaps and bounds, but steady. And I did discuss with him, I think on Monday, where I thought his strength would have to be in order for him to be able to help us. And he is doing everything he can to get to that point.”

Giants Sign Linebacker; Place Jonathan Goff on IR: The Giants have signed free agent LB Edmond Miles. Miles played with the Miami Dolphins in 2007, but was waived by the team in August. According to The Star-Ledger, in addition to Miles, the Giants worked out free agent linebackers Nate Harris, Matt Chatham, Rich Scanlon.

To make room for Miles, the Giants placed LB Jonathan Goff (hamstring) on Injured Reserve.

Giants Do Not Sign Horn: The Giants did not offer WR Joe Horn a contract after he visited the team yesterday.

“I was told to pack my clothes because I may be staying,” said Horn. “I had a great workout, I thought, I ran crisp routes and didn’t drop any balls and I did what I was asked to do. It seemed like the coaches liked it. However, before I could step in the locker room I had an itinerary with my flight back to Atlanta. The opportunity was there, I appreciate the organization and Coach Coughlin for giving me the opportunity, but honestly I kind of felt like I was brought into give those young guys a spark to say, ‘Hey I know you’ve got a job but you can be replaced.’ So I think it kind of boosted and gave those young guys a spark to let them know that Joe Horn was there and their playing time could be taken if they don’t get their act together.”

Notes and Quotes: PK John Carney and P Jeff Feagles are the two oldest players ever to be elected to the Pro Bowl.

Head Coach Tom Coughlin on the Giants’ situation: “How could it be any better than this?…It is terrific. Can you imagine being this time of year, being 11-3 and playing at home for the chance to have a first round bye and play at home throughout the playoffs? Think about that; just think about it a minute. If you can’t be excited about this, I’m not sure what the heck you can be excited about.”

Coughlin has turned down an interview request with former Giants’ running back Tiki Barber, who currently works for NBC. “You and I will be leading Mass at St. Pat’s on Christmas morning before this week’s proposed interview takes place,” said Giants’ Vice President of Communications Pat Hanlon.
