The offense wasn’t much better in the second half. In six possessions, there were three punts, two interceptions, and a field goal.

In all, QB Eli Manning was sacked eight times. He finished the game 18-of-35 for 191 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. The Giants were also held to 72 yards rushing.

The Giants’ defense played better, but still gave up three touchdowns drives: a 4-play, 58-yard effort in the first half; and a 9-play, 72-yard effort and a 7-play, 66-yard effort in the second half.

Giants Sign Webster to Contract Extension Through 2013 Season: Before the Giants’ game against the Cowboys on Sunday night, the Giants announced that they had signed CB Corey Webster to a contract extension through the 2013 season. Webster was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2008 NFL season.

According to NFL.com, the contract is a 5-year, $43.5 million deal that includes $20 million in guaranteed money.

“Corey has been a outstanding person and player in his short career for the Giants,” said General Manager Jerry Reese. “We are very happy to get this deal done. He really came into his own the latter part of last year and that has carried over into the 2008 season, where he has shown that he is one of the top corners in the league.”
