December 10, 2008 New York Giants Injury Report: DE Justin Tuck (lower leg), RT Kareem McKenzie (back), WR Domenik Hixon (ankle/foot), HB Brandon Jacobs (knee), and LB Jonathan Goff (hamstring) did not practice yesterday. Newsday is reporting that Jacobs has a “slightly damaged” posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

“I think (Jacobs) is a little better,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “Yeah, he is a little bit better.” When Coughlin was asked if the Giants will be cautious with Jacobs’ injury, he responded, “We will do the smart thing, the thing which is medically recommended.”

“I feel pretty good,” said Jacobs. “I’m just going day by day and hoping I get better day by day…It’s the same one since Seattle that has been bugging me a little bit. I took a hard fall on it and kind of hurt it a little bit more than anything else. I’m nursing it and doing the best I can. I’m listening to the medical staff and doing the best I can do…I have no idea what’s going on with Sunday. I wish I could be out there, but we have a playoff run we need to make coming up. I want to be healthy for that as well. I always want to play against Dallas.”

As for Hixon, Coughlin said, “He is sore, but he has gotten better the last couple of days. There is some swelling, but not as much. You take it day to day.”

CB Aaron Ross (ankle) practiced on a limited basis.

HB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) fully practiced.

Giants Withhold $1 Million Signing Bonus from Plaxico Burress: According to NFL Players Association (NFLPA), the Giants have withheld a $1 million signing bonus from WR Plaxico Burress that the receiver was due on December 10. As a deferred payment, the $1 million was part of his original $4.25 million signing bonus that he received when his contract was extended in September.

The NFLPA has filed a grievance against the Giants on this matter. The NFLPA is already challenging the original suspension and fine in attempt to recoup some of Burress’ lost salary.
