October 17, 2008 New York Giants Injury Report – Pierce May Not Play Against 49ers: LB Antonio Pierce (quad) did not practice again and is officially listed as “questionable” for the game against the San Francisco 49ers. Pierce himself sounded pessimistic about being able to play against the 49ers on Sunday.  When asked if Pierce set himself back last Monday night, Head Coach Tom Coughlin responded, “Well, it didn’t help, obviously. He was strained and he was trying to go and he was trying to do everything he could, but he was really incapacitated, to a certain extent. He just didn’t feel like he could really drive. “

“We’ll have to make that decision at game time (on whether he will play),” said Coughlin. “The doctors will be in on that, and so will A.P.”  If Pierce does not play, Chase Blackburn will start at middle linebacker.

LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) did not practice and will not play against the 49ers.  Bryan Kehl will start at weakside linebacker.  OC Shaun O’Hara (toe) practiced again and is “probable.” DE Dave Tollefson (knee) was limited in practice but is “probable.”
