New York Giants Cut FB Jim Finn:  The Giants terminated the contract of FB Jim Finn yesterday.  Finn spent the 2007 season on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury.  Finn was HB Tiki Barber’s lead blocker for four seasons.

New York Giants Cut PK Shane Andrus:  The Giants have waived PK Shane Andrus.  Andrus was signed to a futures contract in January.

Contract Extension Talks with Coughlin to Start Next Week:  According to The Daily News, contract extension talks with Head Coach Tom Coughlin will start next week.  The delay is due to the fact that Coughlin has been on a much-deserved vacation.  Coughlin’s current contract is set to expire after the upcoming 2008 NFL season.

Strahan and Reese to Meet in March:  According to The Journal News, 36-year old DE Michael Strahan will meet with General Manager Jerry Reese sometime in March to discuss Strahan’s future.  Strahan, who will be entering the final year of his contract in 2008, may retire.

Notes: The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution yesterday honoring the Giants for their victory in Super Bowl XLII.  The resolution passed by a vote of 412 to 1.  The dissenting vote was from Patrick Murphy (D), a Pennsylvania Congressman and a self-proclaimed life-long fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.  “I couldn’t, in good conscience, vote for the New York Giants,” said Murphy.

The U.S. Senate passed a similar resolution on February 6th with the vote of 100 to 0.
