No Decision on Steve Spagnuolo Yet:  According to press reports out of Washington, DC, Giants’ Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo met with the Redskins for 8 or 9 hours on Tuesday night at Redskins’ owner Dan Snyder’s house.  Talks reportedly continued all day on Wednesday.

ESPN is reporting that the Giants are prepared to make Spagnuolo one of the highest paid coordinators in the NFL.  The Daily News says the Giants may consider offering Spagnuolo the title of “Assistant Head Coach.”

“We’ll make every effort to keep him,” said General Manager Jerry Reese.  “We sure don’t want to play against him with the Redskins because we know what he’ll bring to the table.  If he gets a shot at a head coach’s job, godspeed.”

If Spagnuolo leaves, there is some speculation in the NY/NJ press that Giants’ Linebacker Coach Bill Sheridan may be the leading in-house candidate to replace him.

Notes:  The Giants were only the second team in Super Bowl history to win after trailing in the final minute of the fourth quarter.

The Giants trailed the Patriots at halftime 7-3.  They are the first team to win a Super Bowl after trailing at halftime since Dallas defeated Buffalo, 30-13, in Super Bowl XXVIII.
