Giants Extend Contract of FB Madison Hedgecock Through 2012:  The Giants have extended the contract of FB Madison Hedgecock.  Hedgecock was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the current season, but the Giants have now signed him through the 2012 season.  No financial terms are yet known.

Injury Update:  WR Plaxico Burress (ankle), HB Derrick Ward (groin/ankle), and WR Steve Smith (hamstring/shoulder) did not practice again yesterday.  Burress is officially listed as “questionable” while Ward is “doubtful” and Smith has been ruled out of the game against the Cowboys.

Regarding Burress, Head Coach Tom Coughlin said, “He is going to be sore.  After any time he works he might be sore but I don’t think it will be an issue.”

Quotes: RG Chris Snee on the Dallas run defense: “”They have big guys up front who do a good job of playing their gaps, and even if you get those guys moving, their linebackers are big and physical. You just have to try to outmuscle them; you just have to try to get them going backwards and give the back a little crease.”

RT Kareem McKenzie on the Dallas run defense:  “You don’t see them make very many mistakes. They’re great at being able to control what you do on the field.”

HB Ahmad Bradshaw on possibly being a bigger factor in the offense against the Cowboys:  “They’re trying to get me in there and get me prepared for this game, coming up with different plays They actually gave me a couple of go-screens to throw to me. They’re throwing me in the offense to get me ready and also putting me on special teams.”

Bradshaw on his two early season fumbles and not playing much after that:  “I’m guessing that was a punishment, but I punished myself. I keep a football in my hand for a while after I made that fumble. When they finally told me I was going to be able to get back on that team and they were depending on me, I made it a point to have the ball high and tight and run through with two hands in traffic.”
