Michael Strahan Sounds Optimistic in WFAN Interview: DE Michael Strahan, who suffered a mid-foot sprain (Lisfranc injury) to his right foot against the Texans on Sunday, sounded optimistic about his recovery time during an interview yesterday on WFAN. The Giants released a statement on Monday saying that Strahan would miss 2-4 weeks. “It feels good this morning,” Strahan said yesterday. “Hopefully, if I can continue to do this, the time should be on the short end of the stick.”

When Strahan was asked about the FoxSports.com report where Strahan was quoted as saying he would be out 2-8 weeks, Strahan replied, “I haven’t heard the two months. I’m going on what they said. They said 2-4, that’s what I’m going with, but I’m looking at it as a day-to-day thing, to be honest with you. I’m trying to do everything to stay off it, keep it elevated. I’m on crutches right now for a little bit…If I didn’t know any better. I’d feel like I could walk on this thing right now.””

“I was engaged with the offensive tackle and tried to just throw him and turn, and the front of my foot got caught in the turf and my heel kept going, so it basically just twisted my foot,” Strahan said. “I tried to run and realized, ‘OK, something’s not right.’ Actually, it felt like I’d broken the foot. I’m glad I didn’t. Hopefully this thing can heal pretty quickly.”
