October 11, 2006 New York Giants Injury Report: TE Jeremy Shockey (ankle/foot) practiced yesterday. “He is going to try to go today,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin before yesterday’s practice. “He will do some today. He is sore. And he will have some issues, but hopefully it will be a progressive thing where the soreness gets less and less each day. Like all players, it’s important to practice to be ready to play. So Jeremy will do as much as he can do.”

When asked about the injury further, Coughlin responded, “I don’t think it is the question that the doctors don’t know what it is; they know what it is. He has had a bad ankle since preseason. His foot was sore the other day so he has a combination of a sore ankle and a sore foot.”

Shockey is officially listed as “probable” for the game on Sunday against the Falcons.

S James Butler (knee) returned to practice, but is listed as “questionable” for the game.

WR Sinorice Moss (quad) and LB Carlos Emmons (pectoral muscle) sat out the team portion of practice but did do some individual drills. Both are “doubtful” for the game against the Falcons.

HB Derrick Ward (foot) did not practice and will not play on Sunday.
