August 23, 2006 New York Giants Injury Report: OC Shaun O’Hara (knee), LT Luke Petitgout (back), OG/OC Rich Seubert (toe), WR Sinorice Moss (quad), HB Derrick Ward (foot), and LB Carlos Emmons (burner) did not practice yesterday and will not play against the Jets.
Emmons was examined by doctors in Manhattan yesterday. According to Giants.com, Moss, who has not practiced since July 29, appears close to returning. “He’s been running hard,” Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “As a matter of fact, I thought he was going to practice today. But for some reason they decided medically they’d wait until Sunday.”
Notes: Gerris Wilkinson may start at weakside linebacker against the Jets on Friday night. Barry Cofield may start at one of the defensive tackle positions as well.
