New York Giants Draft Mathias Kiwanuka, Sinorice Moss, Gerris Wilkinson: The Giants traded down in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft and acquired two additional picks. The Giants swapped first round picks with the Pittsburgh Steelers, moving from the 25th spot in the first round to the 32nd spot. In return, the Giants received Pittsburgh’s 3rd and 4th round selections.

Then the Giants traded up in the second round with the Baltimore Ravens, swapping second round picks in exchange for the Giants’ own 3rd round pick. When the dust settled, the Giants finished the day with three picks (they will have four on Sunday).

On the draft’s first day, the Giants selected:

  • 1st Round: DE Mathias Kiwanuka, Boston College
  • 2nd Round: WR Sinorice Moss, University of Miami
  • 3rd Round: LB Gerris Wilkinson, Georgia Tech
